Odegaard Family Counseling, Inc.

Jason Odegaard, MA, LMFT

Are you finding it hard to get through your day without feeling anxious, angry, or sad? Do you often isolate yourself from family and friends? Could you be someone who struggles with understanding why you can't get along with other people? Have you recently lost a loved one or relationship and need support to work through your grief?  I have a passion to help those who are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, and relationship issues.  My other strengths include: work problems, family problems, self-esteem issues, trauma, PTSD, addiction, childhood issues, spiritual identity, sexual identity, and many others.

Life is all about relationships.  When someone is having trouble in  relationships, it can have a negative impact on all areas of one's life.  When working with an individual or couple, my goal is to help them learn how to navigate their relationships in a healthy and positive manner.

I work side by side with my clients in order to help them grow and make the changes necessary to live a more fulfilling life and have more meaningful relationships.

About Me

I attended Biola University where I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology then pursued a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hope International University.  Since then, I have become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and professor of Marriage and Family Therapy at the graduate level.  I have 12 years of experience in the field of psychotherapy and enjoy working with my clients to help them improve their relationships and to help their lives become more whole and complete.  I have also gone on to achieve certification in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) as well as am an Approved Consultant in EMDR.  I also have a certification in Prepare/Enrich, which is a marital and pre-marital tool for helping couples achieve a stronger and healthier relationship.

I am also a professor of psychology and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor at Hope International University.  I love working with all populations, however, I specialize in working with trauma, couples, sexuality issues, and spirituality issues, as well as depression and anxiety.  Feel free to contact me with any questions or for a free consultation!  I consider myself to be a devout Christ follower, however, I work well people of all faiths, backgrounds, and lifestyles.
